Titans Dominate NWAC All-Conference Team
6 Titans Named NWAC All-Stars, Hix Named Southern Region Player of the Year, Jensen Nabs Co-Coach of the Year
The Southern Region Champion Lane Women’s Soccer team (13-4-3, 10-1-1) had six players named to the NWAC-all conference All-Star team, announced Tuesday by the conference.
Freshmen Pikake Hix (Kahuku, Hi.) was named the Southern Region Player of the Year after finishing her freshmen campaign with 18 goals and 6 assists for 42 points, which left her ranked third overall in the conference. It is the second straight year the Titan’s have had the Region Player of the Year, as former Titan Taylor Boyer earned the accolade in 2014.
Sophomore midfielder Anna Goodrie (Thurston, Ore.) earned her second-straight All-Star honor after earning 12 goals and five assists and finishing in the top-10 of all point getters in the NWAC.
Sophomores Araceli Jimenez (Medford, Ore.), Kylee O’Connor (Eugene, Or.) and Erica Cogburn (Thurston, Ore.) earned their first All-Star honors, after leading the Titans to Region Titles in both their years at Lane.
Rounding out the All-Star team was freshmen defender Crystal Adame (Las Vegas, Nev.). Adame anchored a backline that earned 13 shutouts and gave up the fewest amount of goals (13) in the Region.
Second-year head coach Erica Jensen was named Co-Coach of the year after leading the Titans to their second-consecutive Region Title and a second round appearance in the NWAC playoffs.
The All-Stars will travel to Tuckwila, Wa. on Sunday, Nov. 15 where they will participate in the All-Star match and be honored at the NWAC Championships.
