Titans sixth at Western Washington meet

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Lane Community College freshman Elias Gedyon placed 11th and the Titans finished sixth in a 16-team field at the Western Washington Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.

Geydon covered the 10-kilometer course in 31 minutes, 42 seconds. Micah Chelimo of Alaska Anchorage won in 31:12.

Other scorers for LCC, which had 152 points, were Jacob Berkner (32:38), Aaron Kirch (33:28), Caleb Patrick (33:41) and Sam Van de Velde (33:53). The University of Victoria won with 37, and Alaska Anchorage was second with 40.

In the women’s 6,000, Lane’s finishers were freshmen Macauley Wilson (71st, 25:13) and Blair Harris (101st, 26:58). Alison Jackson of Trinity Western was the individual winner in 21:42, and Alaska Anchorage won the team title.
