Titans victimized twice by late-game rallies
LONGVIEW, Wash. — The Lane Community College baseball team succumbed to big innings in losing a pair of games Saturday.
Down 7-2 in the top of the ninth inning, Edmonds Community College scored five runs to upend the Titans 8-7 in Lane’s opener. LCC catcher Jarren Goodard belted a solo home run, one of nine Titan hits in the game.
Later in the afternoon, Lower Columbia Community College broke open a scoreless contest with five runs in the seventh inning in the Red Devils’ 5-0 victory over the Titans. Lane could muster only four hits off Tritons’ starter Nick LaRoy.
Lane (2-2) plays the same two teams today in Longview.
