Titans win to improve to 18-0
Lane’s Jordan Kimbrough scored 40 points and grabbed 22 rebounds Monday in leading the Titans to a 93-76 women’s basketball win over Chemeketa.
Kimbrough scored 29 of her 40 points in the second half and had 12 rebounds in the second half to help the Titans (18-0, 5-0 NWAC South) break open a close game.
The Storm (7-11, 3-2) trailed 42-40 at halftime, but with Kimbrough leading the way, the Titans used a 30-19 third-quarter advantage to pull away.
Kimbrough’s 40 points is believed to be the third-best total in school history and her 18 field goals tied a school record. Shelby Snook, who had 11 assists Monday, holds the Titans’ single-game scoring record with 44 points.
Zaid leads Lane men to win over Chemeketa
Usama Zaid scored 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Lane to a 103-92 victory over Chemeketa in an NWAC men’s basketball game Monday night at Lane.
The Titans (15-3, 3-2 Southern Region) won their third consecutive game and moved into a tie for third place in the league standings with Chemeketa and Umpqua, which Lane will meet on Wednesday in Roseburg.
Jacob Bigler added 23 points for the Titans. Bradley Branch led Chemeketa (12-6, 3-2) with 18 points.
