Tritons’ Johnson handcuffs Titans at NWAACC tourney

LONGVIEW, Wash. — Zach Johnson pitched eight innings of two-hit ball to lead Edmonds to an 8-0 victory over Lane in the first round of the NWAACC baseball tournament on Thursday at Lower Columbia Community College.

The Titans (27-18), the second seed out of the South Region, will face Columbia Basin or Pierce in a loser-out game at 12:30 p.m. today

Kyle Olson went 3-for-4 and TC Florentine drove in two runs for Edmonds (35-7), which took a 6-0 lead after two innings and were never challenged after that. Florentine, Chris Osborne and Tyler Baker had two hits apiece for Edmonds.

Erik Long and Konner Reddick had Lane’s hits. Travis Kelley allowed nine hits in 1 2/3 innings and took the loss.
