Umpqua rolls past Lane women
Lane did not get its revenge on Umpqua on Wednesday.
The Riverhawks held the Titans to 29 percent shooting from the field and built on a 24-point halftime lead to beat Lane 89-56 in an NWAC Southern Region women’s basketball game on Wednesday night.
Umpqua (23-2, 12-0 Southern Region) clinched an NWAC playoff berth with the victory. The Riverhawks have handed Lane (20-4, 9-2) its only two Southern Region defeats this season.
Jordan Stotler had 24 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots for Umpqua, and Bria Thomas and Dejanay Powell also scored 24 points each for the Riverhawks, who shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded Lane 53-32. Tasia Bilbrew added 12 assists for Umpqua.
Sarah Hall scored 19 points for the Titans, and Sierra Carrier added 11.
