Washington teams test Titans
LAKEWOOD, WA - The Titan Baseball team played some tight games again on Sunday against Pierce and Bellevue. They started the day off at 10am against the Pierce Raiders (5-7) with a come from behind victory in the ninth inning. Lane was down 3-0 in the top of the ninth, when the Titans went on a tear getting four runs. Zach Kayser came in as the closer for the Titans in the bottom of the ninth and held the Raiders scoreless to get the save in the 4-3 win. Daniel Katayama and Nick Coffman both went 1-for-4 and got 2 RBIs each to get all the runs for the Titans. Sam Kiess went 2-for-3 amd Spencer Smith went 2-for-4 to help the Titan's cause. Alex Cornwell got the win, while Jacob Phillips was the losing pitcher for Pierce.
In Game 2, Lane played number one Bellevue for the second time in as many days which resulted in a 7-4 loss for the Titans. Bellevue's 15 hits seemed to be the demise of the Titans who only got 4. Elliot Sherrell (pictured) had a double and an RBI going 1-for-3 on the day. Colben McGuire pitched 1.1 innings and got the loss as Lane had to to use 5 pitchers in the game with this being the fourth game in two days for the Titans. The team has a couple days to rest before they head to Vancouver, WA to face Clark in a double-header starting @ 1pm on Wednesday, 3/28.
