EUGENE, OR -- On Saturday, Jan. 3, the Lane Titans men's and women's basketball programs will welcome the Portland Panthers for the first conference game of the season for both schools.

Head coach for the men's basketball team, Lavonte Davis, will lead his team (4-7 overall) into a matchup with the Panthers (7-4 overall) coached by Cameron Mitchell. Both teams are coming off the holiday break eager to kick off their league campaigns in the win column. The men's game will tipoff at 2 p.m.

The Lane Titans women's basketball team ended their preseason schedule with a 12-1 record, while the Portland Panthers women's program has compiled a 4-10 record thus far. Head coach Greg Sheley has emphasized efficiency on both sides of the ball. As of Jan. 2, the Titans lead the NWAC in defensive and overall net rating. The Lane offense ranks third in offensive efficiency, but leads the NWAC ny averaging 84.4 points per game. The women's game is scheduled to tipoff at 4 p.m.
