Men Upset Southwestern Oregon, Women Roll to 14th Win

EUGENE, OR -- On Wednesday night, the Lane Titans men's team ended the Southwestern Oregon Lakers seven-game winning streak with a 58-53 win. Freshman Tru Young scored a game-high 19 points and career-high 22 rebounds to lift the Titans to their second conference win. Sophomore Noah Salmon added 15 points.

Freshman forward Nate Stiffler, again, provided the spark off the bench with 9 points on 3-for-4 shooting (2-for-3 from 3-point). He also snagged 6 rebounds in 16 minutes of action.

The men will travel to Portland and face a formidable Clackamas Cougars team on Saturday, Jan. 10, who is 10-5 on the season and split their first two Southern Region contests against Umpqua and Mt. Hood.

In Wednesday nights second game, the Titans women team rolled to a cool 43-point victory. The game finished 91-48 with Gretchen Orton scoring 24 points. Other double-digit scorers included Maitlin Young (17) and Alessa Soto (16).

Corbett High grad Lilly Schimel served as the swiss army knife, do-it-all with 6 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals in 17 minutes.

The Titans will take their seven-game winning streak into Clackamas on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 4 p.m.
