EUGENE, OR – On Wednesday, May 6, the Lane Titans baseball team won their regular season home finale against the Umpqua Riverhawks, 1-0. The Titans (32-16 overall, 22-12 Southern Region) will need to win at least one game on Saturday vs. the Riverhawks in order to clinch the No. 2 seed in the Southern Region, and host a home Super Regional tournament.
In Wednesday's first matchup, the Riverhawks pitching and defense held the Titans to just 3 hits and 1 run in a 2-1 win. Donnie Morgan (2) and Sebastian Contreras (1) were the only Titans to record a hit. Jalen Riddle recorded 1 RBI when he was walked with the bases loaded in the 8th inning.
In Game 2, Lucas Geren recorded the win after he went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs on 4 hits and 5 strikeouts. The only score of the game came in the 3rd inning when Quinton Olson scored on a Donnie Morgan single.
The Titans will travel to Roseburg, OR on Saturday and try to clinch second place this Saturday at 1 and 4 p.m.
