Young, Orton Highlight Titans 105-62 Win Over Centralia

EUGENE, OR -- The Titans women's basketball squad showed out in their first game of the season with a 105-62 victory over the Centralia Trailblazers on Friday night. The Lane-Centralia game concluded the first day of the 2025 Titan Classic. To see the scores of the first two matches, visit the NWAC website.

It was the Titans' full court press that caught the Trailblazers off guard. Their suffocating defense allowed just 28 points in the first half.

After the halftime break, Lane continued to dominate with defense. The Titans forced 38 turnovers and scored 48 points off those mistakes.

Sophomore Maitlin Young led the scoring effort with 27 points. In her collegiate debut, freshman Gretchen Orton hit four 3-pointers to score 20 points. She added six rebounds and two assists. In the passing department, freshman Lily Smith nearly missed a double-double recording 12 points and nine assists, also in her debut.

The Titans will run it back tomorrow at 4 p.m. with a game versus Treasure Valley - who defeated the Linn-Benton Roadrunners, 73-50.
