EUGENE, OR -- Three wins in three days for the Lane Titans women's basketball team, who concluded the weekend with an 89-38 win over the Pierce College Raiders. The Titans officially started a winning streak on Sunday led by Titan Classic Tournament MVP Maitlin Young. The sophomore guard averaged 22 points and 7 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Gretchen Orton also earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.
The Titans full court defense made it difficult for the Raiders to advance the ball up the court as Myana Calloway, Lilly Schimel, Morgan Raleigh, Orton and Young stole the ball at least four times - Raleigh and Orton recorded five.
The Titans flexed their depth with statlines from Lily Cavanaugh (19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals) and Orton (8 points, 5 rebounds in 13 minutes) off the bench.
It will be a while until the women's team returns home as they play nine of their next 10 games on the road. Look forward to the Titans-Centralia rematch on Dec. 5 in Centralia, Washington.
