EUGENE, OR -- Freshman Brooklyn Koberlein's 14 points and 12 rebounds helped the Titans dominate the Blue Mountain Timberwolves, 85-43, on Dec. 30. In their first game in Eugene since Nov. 23 (89-38 win over Centralia), the Titans wasted no time getting back in the groove.
The Titans built a 15-point advantage when sophomore Maitlin Young hit a 3-pointer - assisted by Shelby Bruney - putting the score at 19-4. The Lane defense wreaked havoc on the Timberwolves by allowing just four points in the second quarter and going into halftime ahead 42-14.
It was a team effort as every Lane Titans player who checked into the game scored at least one point. Lily Cavanaugh added 12 points (4-9 on 3-pointers). Morgan Raleigh and Brytlee Harris scored 7 points, respectively, and Gretchen Orton scored a game-high 16 points and added 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Titans will host Portland Panthers on Saturday, Jan. 3 for a double-header with the men's team. Tipoff for the men's game is at 2 p.m. followed by the women's matchup at 4 p.m.
