EUGENE, OR -- The Lane Community College Titans delivered a dominant 86-59 victory over the visiting Linn-Benton Roadrunners on February 18.
Powered by Maitlin Young's 36-point performance on 15-of-23 shooting, Lane controlled the tempo. Wednesday was Young's second 30+ point game of the season and her sixth game scored at least 24 points. As a squad, the Titans shot 49% from the field and knocked down eight three-pointers.
Gretchen Orton added 12 points and 5 assists, while Alessa Soto contributed 9 points and 9 rebounds.
Lane's defense forced 15 turnovers, converting them into 18 points, and the Titans won the rebounding battle 42-29, including 19 second-chance points to seal the convincing home win. The Titans will try to fine tune their play against the Umpqua Riverhawks on Wednesday, Feb. 25, before heading to the Northwest Athletic Conference Playoffs.
