PASCO, WA -- The Lane Titans women's basketball team travels to Pasco today in preparation for their opening game of the Norhtwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Championships.

The Titans (25-4 overall, 13-3 South Region) finished the regular season on a seven-game win streak and in second place among the Southern Region. Coached by Greg Sheley, the Titans are set to face the Green River Gators (15-12 overall, 8-4 West Region) from Auburn, WA on Saturday, March 7 at 8 p.m.

Earlier this week, two Titans were named to the NWAC Southern Region First Team: Sophomore Maitlin Young and freshman Gretchen Orton - who earned a spot on the Southern Region All-Defensive Team, as well.

The two schools have a history. In 2023, Lane defeated Green River in the title game and Titans guard Bella Hamel was named the Most Valuable Player.

This year, the Gators finished third in the West Region, with two First Team selections: Jirah Villanueva and Jayla Kewola. Villanueva was also named to the All-Defensive Team by averaging nearly 2 steals per game.

Winner of Lane-Green River will play Walla Walla or Olympic on March 8.
