The Lane Titans Volleyball team dropped a tight match in their Southern Region opener against the Chemeketa Storm Wednesday evening.
The young Titan team, dealing with mutliple injuries to key players, are coming off of a strong weekend at the East Region Crossover in Pasco, Washington.
After victories over the defending NWAC Champion Skagit Valley Cardinals and the Pierce Raiders, the Titans tried to maintain that momentum into league play.
The Storm took the first set 25-20 after trailing early on.
The Titans found themselves down 21-16 in the second set and facing a tough 0-2 deficit, but mounted a furious comeback to take the set 26-24 and even up the match at 1-1.
Both teams traded blows the rest of the way, but the Storm ended up taking sets 3 and 4.
The Titans now sit at 6-7 on the season and will travel south to play Umpqua on Friday.
