Titans Fall to Umpqua, Shift Focus to NWAC Playoffs

EUGENE, OR -- On Wednesday, Feb. 25, the Lane Titans men's basketball team lost to the visiting Umpqua Riverhawks, 93-82.

Prior to tipoff the Titans recognized four sophomores: guards Justin Davis, Joey Banry and Noah Salmon and forward Brody Roth.

The Titans started the game on a 15-6 run capitalized by an old fashioned three-point play. Salmon scored a game-high 25 points and added 7 rebounds and 6 steals.

Umpqua would close out the first half ahead by a dozen, 46-34. Lane would continue to attack offensively, but the Riverhawks did not let up. Lenny Liyong would score 14 points and snag 5 rebounds. Gavin Inglish recorded 11 poinnts, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks off the bench.

The Titans finished 14-14 on the season and 9-7 in conference play.

As the Southern Region No. 4 seed, Lane will face the No. 1 seed from the Western Region, the Green River Gators (23-6 overall, 12-2 Western Region). The teams will face off in the Sweet Sixteen on Thursday, March 5 at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA.
